Former Dutch national Wesley Snyder made a curious speech. He believes he had the qualities to play on a par with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but he never really pursued it.
If I gave myself 100% and reached my maximum, I would be at the level of Messi and Ronaldo. But I didn`t want to. And I`m not sorry for that. People often tell me that I deserved the Golden Ball in 2010. I told them that I won the Champions League then, which is more valuable to me. I have always been a team player and attached more importance to team trophies than individual achievement, Snyder said in an interview with FOX Sports.
The 35-year-old former midfielder gave up football last summer. Most recently, he brings the Qatari al-Garaf team. Previously, Snyder played for Ajax, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Galatasaray and Nice.
