World No. 2 Roger Federer began convincingly to participate in the last year`s US Open Grand Slam tournament. The 37-year-old Swiss made up for less than two hours with Japan`s Yoshihito Nishioka in three sets - 6:2, 6:2, 6:4. The five-time winner of the New York title showed an excellent form and gave almost no chance to his rival. Federer made 56 winners and allowed only 32 unforced errors in the match. In addition, the Maestro did not stop harassing his opponent with his serve, making 14 aces while the Japanese could not record on his account.




Nishioka was still in the last set when he gave a much more serious rebound, and although losing 0:4, he managed to hold on to the set and even returned one of the breakthroughs when Federer was serving for the match.
